Hi! I'm Evan and I love to cook. Actually, I love all things culinary ... whether it is the history of recipes, the science of baking, or where the food comes from. I love finding out how food is grown or farmed. I love it all. Because of my intense questioning of flavors and textures, I'm often called the "Nerd Chef".
Some of my earliest and fondest memories contain food. My grandmother’s pound cake conjures up stories of hope and pursuit of better life as she traveled North from North Carolina as a teen. My dad’s tomato sauce that has no recipe, but is absolutely different and delicious every time.
Today, I combine my passion for food with my curious nature to try and create new things. I like to put my own spin on things. This is what it means to Evanate.
